I: Early-stage preparation includes preparing component library and schematic diagram

PCB component library has high requirements, which can directly influence the installation of boards, while the requirements for SCH component library is low as long as the features of base pin and PCB components are coordinated well. PS: The hidden base pins in the standard library should be paid more attention. The next step is the design of schematic diagram, after which the PCB design will begin.

II: PCB structure design

In this step, based on the determined circuit size and mechanical positioning, PCB layout can be drawn under the designing conditions of PCB and the components such as connector, button/switch, screw holes, pilot hole should be placed in the right place accordingly with full attention being paid to the routing area and non-routing area(Most areas around the screw holes are non-routing area.)

III. PCB layout

To put in simply, layout actually refers to placement of components in the board. If all the preparation work mentioned above is made well, the Design-Createlist can be created automatically in the schematic diagram, followed by importing of the Design-LoadNets into the PCB Online diagram, and then the components will be seen to stack on the board automatically with flying line in the base pin indicating to connect. Next, the components can be laid out, which requires great effort as this step determines the overall image of the board and the complexity level of the next routing. In the process of layout, initial routing can be tried before the actual routing when it is not certain and full attention should be paid.

IV. Routing

Routing is the most important procedure in the overall PCB design, which can directly determines the performance of the PCB board. In the process of PCB design, routing can be generally divided into three levels: the first level is routing connectivity which is the basic requirement in designing PCB. If the route is not connected well with flying wires all over the board, the board can be called an unqualified one, or namely, is not passed. The second level is to satisfy the needs of the electrical appliances.

V. The main principles in routing

Generally, the first step is to route the electrical wires and ground electrode to ensure the electrical performance of the board. If possible, try to widen the width of the electric wires and ground electrode within certain limits. It is better that the ground electrode is wider than electrical wires with the relations of width being like: ground electrode > electrical wires > signal line. Generally, the width of signal line is 0.20.3m with the minimum width being 0.050.07mmwhile the width of electrical wires are generally 1.22.5mm. PCB intended for digital circuit can form a loop back by employing wide earthed conducting line, namely, building a earth screen(It can not be applied in )earth with artificial circuit.
